Pedro Rodriguez does not feel that Barcelona’s 3-1 win over Malaga in La Liga will play any part in the clubs’ upcoming Copa del Rey meetings.
The two teams played out Week 19’s League match on Sunday evening ahead of facing off against each other in the Spanish Cup quarter-finals, the first leg of which will be played at the Camp Nou this midweek.
Despite a 3-1 win at La Rosaleda, Barcelona are expecting a tough couple of encounters with Malaga, according to Pedro.
“In the Copa del Rey the clashes with Malaga will be totally different because it is another competition, totally different. Certainly they will face us very strong,” commented the forward, after his side’s record-breaking first half of the League season.
“We have started very strongly. We’ve only dropped two points and we have concluded a great first half to the season.
“Hopefully we will continue in this line of form. It is always a challenge to get new records. We must continue as at present, step by step.”
