Atleti reject Madrid-Pulido offer

Real Madrid have reportedly asked Atletico Madrid about the possibility of signing defender Jorge Pulido, but been turned away.

The two Madrid sides are understood, as rivals, to have an unwritten agreement between the Presidents not to transfer players between each other, particularly those of Spanish nationality.

However, Marca believe that Madrid’s search for a defender to primarily strengthen their Castilla outfit has led them to 21-year-old centre-back Pulido.

The youngster, who spent part of last season on loan at Rayo Vallecano, has been rumoured in recent days as a possibility to find playing time elsewhere in the second half of the season, in the form of another loan.

However, Atleti are believed to have rejected Madrid’s approach to take the youngster, on any terms.

Coach Diego Simeone is understood to have vetoed any move out for the defender, as he believed to be keen to keep Pulido as Atleti’s fourth-choice centre-back for the season.
