Official: Deportivo sack Oltra

Jose Luis Oltra has been removed as Coach of Deportivo, with the team currently bottom of the Spanish Primera Division table.

Oltra, who took Depor to the Segunda Division title last term with a record haul of 91 points, has left his role after being called to a meeting with President Augusto Cesar Lendoiro on Sunday.

Lendoiro confirmed the news via a Press conference held on Sunday evening, where he described the decision as ‘the only option left’, before also confirming that a replacement will be named in the coming hours.

Oltra leaves the club with just 12 points picked up from the opening 17 League matches, with only two of those games won.

Depor’s players are due back at training on Monday, with their first game of 2013 set for the following Saturday at home to Malaga.
