Jose Maria Gutierrez, Guti, has backed former Real Madrid teammate Iker Casillas to make a quick return to the first team.
The captain was dropped from the League champions’ starting line-up for their 3-2 defeat at the weekend to Malaga.
When asked for comment on the potential ramifications behind this decision, Guti looked to play things down.
“Iker knows that he is the best goalkeeper in the world and that everything will return to normal soon,” he told reporters at Casillas’ charity event yesterday evening.
“It’s not about choosing between Iker or Mou, the most important thing here is Real Madrid. It’s fundamental that the team return to normal as soon as possible.”
