Athletic Bilbao defender Fernando Amorebieta has taken to Twitter to deny talk of a rift between him and Coach Marcelo Bielsa.
The Venezuelan centre-back has recently lost his place to youngster Aymeric Laporte, in the aftermath of a costly mistake he made in the Copa del Rey away goals defeat to Eibar.
“I write this tweet to clarify that this information is totally false,” read Amorebieta’s post. “I have not had any problems with my Coach.”
Friction between Bielsa and his players has often been diagnosed as one of the main causes of Athletic’s struggles this season, with secret recordings of his dressing room speeches being released to the Press more than once.
