Mourinho ‘met with PSG’

Jose Mourinho’s difficult situation with Real Madrid reportedly prompted talks with Paris Saint-Germain last month.

November saw reports first emerge that the Coach was, in agreement with President Florentino Perez, going to leave the capital club at the end of the season, after a difficult start to the 2012-13 campaign.

Le Sport 10 allege that during this month, when rumours linked Mourinho to a number of different coaching positions for next summer, the Portuguese’s agent Jorge Mendes held talks with PSG’s owner Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani.

Apparently, the talks over a proposed summer move to the French capital advanced to such as stage that a secret meeting between Al Thani and Mourinho also took place.

It is believed that Al Thani has in fact also held talks with Pep Guardiola and Arsene Wenger over prospective employment and has since decided that Mourinho is his preferred candidate to replace Carlo Ancelotti next season.

Reports today believe that Madrid President Perez will make clear his support for Mourinho to stay with Los Blancos and see out his contract that runs until June 2016.
