Tello agrees new deal – official

Barcelona have confirmed that Cristian Tello will shortly put pen to paper on a new three-year contract at the club.

The B team star has been in talks with the club over a renewal since the close of the summer transfer window, when Coach Tito Vilanova blocked any loan move out.

Delays have been explained in reports since as being down to the finer points of Tello’s buyout clause and exactly what proportion of it he would receive, should it ever be activated.

Issues have been resolved, though, with the player agreeing to pen a three-year extension to his contract that otherwise was set to expire in June of next year.

The club have confirmed via a brief statement on their official website that Tello will officially sign his new contract next Monday.

The 21-year-old, who only made his League debut for Barca in January 2012, will see his buyout clause remain at €10m.
