Manchester City are apparently considering making a €20m move for Real Betis’ midfielder Benat Etxebarria.
The 25-year-old is reported by AS on Wednesday as being targeted by the English champions for a move in one of the coming transfer windows.
Benat has been in negotiations over a new contract at Betis since the summer, but with talks stalling over reputed disagreements pertaining to his buyout clause, the club have already admitted that he could be sold.
The summer saw bids in excess of €10m rejected from Wolfsburg and Athletic Bilbao, whilst Liverpool were also said to be keen admirers.
However, it is City, also linked in the summer, who are said to be prepared to come back in with a firm offer in the coming months and one that would activate negotiations by meeting his €20m buyout clause.
