Carles Puyol doesn’t much care for who Barcelona face in the knockout stages of the Champions League, even if Milan have caught his eye.
Speaking after Barca’s 0-0 draw with Benfica, the captain was asked who he would prefer the club to draw in the Last 16 next week.
“We do not care who our next rival is. However, you know that I like to play against Milan, as they are a team that I admire,” commented the No 5, before reflecting that situations have time to change.
“Until we play those games there is still a long way to go and we need to keep doing our own work.
“In addition, it could be that a team that is stronger now will not be as strong then, and the other way around.
“For now we have to focus on the League and Cup.”
Barca played Milan four times in last season’s Champions League, meeting twice in the group stages and again at the quarter-final stage.
