Paris Saint-Germain boss Carlo Ancelotti has described his Real Madrid counterpart Jose Mourinho as ‘a guillotine over my head’.
Ancelotti’s expensively assembled PSG side have been stumbling of late, sparking talk that he could be replaced by or even swap places with Mourinho, rumours that the Portuguese tactician acknowledged earlier today.
PSG President Nasser Al-Khelaifi has issued a denial , but Ancelotti’s response when quizzed on the matter after the French club’s 2-1 Champions League win over Porto last night told a different story.
“Mourinho? Yes, it’s a guillotine over my head,” stated ‘Carletto’. “Obviously when a team starts a championship with high goals then things go wrong, it creates instability and people criticise the Coach.”
Ancelotti and Mourinho are both former Chelsea Coaches, and spent the 2008-09 season in opposition in Italy, as bosses of Milan and Inter respectively.
