Fernando Llorente and Gaizka Toquero ensured Athletic Bilbao defeat Hapoel Kiryat Shmona in the Europa League.
Marcelo Bielsa named an experimental line-up for the trip to Israel as a number of youth team players were drafted in for the dead-rubber.
It was the young Basque side who started the brighter of the two, but it was one of the more experienced members, Llorente who almost opened the scoring with a fierce effort early on.
And it was the wantaway striker who eventually did bag the opener on 34 minutes. A Toquero shot bounced off the post, and the Spain international was there to poke in the rebound.
After the break, Los Leones continued their dominance and doubled the lead with just 15 minutes remaining as Toquero rifled a shot from the edge of the area past Daniel Amos and into the back of the net.
