Mou: Relationship with Madrid good

Jose Mourinho has rejected the notion that he is under pressure from Real Madrid after slipping to an 11-point deficit in the League.

Defeat on Saturday night followed by Barcelona’s win at Levante the next day has seen Los Blancos fall 11 points behind their title rivals after just 13 rounds of action.

However, Mourinho was defiant in addressing the media today and argued with reporters.

“Here I am working as I have for many years. There is no question, the relationship with the club is as usual,” stated the Portuguese today.

“With the players? Usually, satisfaction depends on the results, on the mood, and when you win things are much better than when you lose, it is normal.

“I do not want anyone to talk about this. I am a club employee. It is the club’s that matters and who can say if they are happy with what we are doing. The assessment must be done at the end.

“Maybe the club is not happy with me and thinks there is room for improvement. It is worth waiting. Now, I have a very, very, very good relationship, absolutely superb relationship with the President and Jose Angel Sanchez [CEO].

“If at a professional level there are discrepancies then these are normal, that’s life. I left Chelsea and still maintain a personal relationship with the owner Abramovich and with other people at that club.”

The Coach was asked of Madrid’s chances of winning the League now.

“Can we win La Liga? I am thinking about winning the Copa del Rey, on the 11-point gap and the League I will talk on Friday, I’ll be out for that Press conference.”

Mourinho was asked if he was preparing for next season with Real Madrid, amid rumours in recent weeks that he was considering leaving.

“It is you that says I am not working here next season. What else can I say, shall I call you a liar? No, it does not look good.

“I may not be a good Coach, but I’m a professional, I will not accept you saying that I am not a professional.”

Mourinho was actually speaking ahead of his side’s midweek Cup clash with Alcoyano. 4-1 up from the first leg, the Coach was in a pessimistic mood.

“People will not be happy, but I would accept a 1-0 loss for us to progress. People will not understand, but I hope you have support for the guys that will play. Morata, Rodriguez, Nacho and Cheryshev will play, they deserve peace.”
