Liverpool striker Luis Suarez is a target for Atletico Madrid and he is aware of their interest already, according to reports today.
The capital club are being linked with potential replacements for Radamel Falcao at the moment, with reports edging towards the Colombian’s departure in January or next summer.
Edinson Cavani of Napoli has been paired with Atleti this week and so too has his Uruguayan colleague Suarez.
Atleti were reportedly in negotiations to sign Suarez from Ajax in January 2011, before his eventual move to the Premier League, but they are understood to be keen to try and bring him to Spain once more.
Marca report that whilst prising the player from his extended Anfield contract that runs until June 2018 may prove difficult, informal channels have already directly alerted the player to the club’s interest in coming transfer windows.
