Atletico Madrid midfielder Mario Suarez admitted that his side could have performed better after their 1-0 win over Hapoel Tel-Aviv.
An early strike from Raul Garica was enough to give Los Rojiblancos the three points and a place in the last 32 of the Europa League.
But the 25-year-old conceded they were sloppy at Vicente Calderon.
“We fully understood what we had to do,” he told reporters after the game. “We played with intensity to begin with, but we then took our foot off the gas.
“Maybe we were a little sloppy in our passing, but the most important thing was the three points.”
