Ander Herrera has offered his support to teammate Fernando Llorente, telling reporters today that no-one is more committed to Athletic Bilbao than the forward.
Llorente is set for a rare start in the League this weekend with Aritz Aduriz suspended, but in the week’s preparations drew headlines for missing a Press conference.
Teammate Herrera today took time in his own pre-match Press conference to insist that this incident should not change perception of the Spain international.
“We have always been quiet and we stay distant from these issues because it does not help, but no-one should be in any doubt that Fernando is always the first who wants to win,” the youngster told reporters today.
“The fans have never turned their backs and this weekend will be no different. I have always said that our support is phenomenal. The feels together and, except for Madrid and Barcelona who have the ability to win every game, teams with more limitations such as us need our supporters.”
