Lyon are reportedly interested in taking Tiago Mendes off of Atletico Madrid next summer, as the Portuguese midfielder’s contract runs down.
Tiago, who spent two seasons with the French side between 2005 and 2007, has made eight League appearances so far this term under Diego Simeone, but is reportedly expected by the club to be on his way out at the end of the season.
The 31-year-old’s contract expires in June and Atleti are, according to the Madrid media, happy to turn to other options in the centre of the park.
Subsequently, Lyon are being linked with very early interest in their former player and are seen as the frontrunners to start talking to the former Chelsea and Juventus man from January.
