Levante defender David Navarro reportedly sent Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo a text message after elbowing him in the face.
Navarro caught the Portuguese in just the second minute of Sunday’s clash at the Ciutat de Valencia, forcing Ronaldo to be substituted at half-time to receive stitches to the wound above his left eye after struggling with his vision.
According to Punto Pelota, Navarro then sent Ronaldo a text, which the television programme displayed.
“As soon as I saw the extent of the damage, I have wanted to say sorry,” it read.
It is believed that Ronaldo has not yet replied to the message.
