First half strikes from Adrian and Arda Turan gave Atletico Madrid a 2-0 win over Getafe at Vicente Calderon.
After last weekend's loss to Valencia, Diego Simeone's men were keen to bounce back with a win over the Azulones.
They named a virtually full-strength side, and almost got off to the best possible start, only for Raul Garcia to put his close-range header wide inside 10 minutes.
Midway through the half though, they did open the scoring. A clipped ball from Gabi was tapped in by Adrian at the second time of asking.
And in the dying moments of the half, they made it 2-0. Arda Turan waltzed his way towards goal, before tricking his way around Miguel Moya and tapping into an empty net.
After the break, the home team continued to monopolise possession, and could have stretched their lead further, only for Raul Garcia and Radamel Falcao to miss the target when called upon.
Angel Lafita and Diego Castro could have pulled one back for Luis Garcia’s side, but Atleti held on for the 2-0 win.
