Only Valencia’s strong defence prevented a determined Real Valladolid from taking all three points today, says Coach Miroslav Djukic.
The game hinged on a second-half red card for Aly Cissokho and subsequent penalty that allowed for the hosts to equalise.
Whilst it finished all square, Djukic felt that his team deserved more than just the single point.
“Valladolid were very good, we dominated, took the ball and were not going to settle for the draw,” commented the Coach at full-time.
“However, we still did not achieve the fluency of play we wanted, because our opponents were very difficult.
“Valencia firmly shut up at the back and were also very dangerous to us on the counter-attack.
“The penalty seemed clear to me, whilst both Omar and Alberto Bueno did well, moving between the lines.”
