Zaragoza to renew Victor

Victor Rodriguez is set for yet another new contract at Real Zaragoza, this time to boost his pay into a higher bracket.

The B team youngster signed a deal with the club in July 2012 stipulating that after five appearances for the first team of 45 minutes or longer, that it would automatically extend to June 2016.

Having triggered that clause this month, Victor is now set for talks with the Aragonese management over improving the financial terms in his deal.

Currently on €40,000 a year, the young attacker was set for an automatic pay-rise in July 2013, but the club are in talks this week to bring forward that situation.

Victor’s wage is considerably lower than those he is sharing the first team dressing room with. For example, Jose Mari is listed as being on €120,000 a season.
