Giovani dos Santos has suffered another muscular injury and will miss the chance to appear for Mallorca next weekend against Barcelona.
The Mexican forward developed as a youth through La Blaugrana’s youth academy but left in 2008 and is now at his fifth different club since doing so.
However, he won’t be available next weekend when Barca come to visit Mallorca, as the islanders have confirmed that he has overstretched his left thigh muscle and is sidelined for two to three weeks.
It is the latest blow for the 23-year-old, who only recently returned to action for his new side after struggles with a hamstring injury from the summer carried over into the season proper.
The injury is also the latest to a long line for Mallorca, who have lost their last five games in a row. Nunes, Antonio Lopez, Javi Marquez, Ximo and Joao Victor are all unavailable too. The latter had to undergo surgery for an intestinal disease over the weekend.
