Juve set sights on David Villa

Juventus are set to make a fresh push to take David Villa to Serie A next summer, according to Mundo Deportivo.

The Italian giants tried to sign the Barcelona striker before the start of this season after winning the Scudetto under Antonio Conte, but were knocked back in their attempts.

However, they have now placed Villa’s capture in the hands of agent Giuseppe Bozzo and are hopeful the Italian can come to an agreement with VOS, the agency that represents the 30-year-old Spanish international.

Juve are aware of the fact that Brazilian wonderkid Neymar’s arrival at the Camp Nou looks a real possibility at the end of the current campaign, an operation that has been reflected in La Blaugrana’s accounts and not denied by the club.

Consquently, La Vecchia Signora believe they can prise the Asturian away from the Catalans, given his opportunities could be limited next season with Lionel Messi an undisputed starter for Tito Vilanova.

The presence of Bozzo is believed to indicate Juve have earmarked Villa as their number one target as he maintains a good relationship with Juve chief executive Beppe Marotta.

Bozzo also has experience of working with Spanish clubs having engineered the deal between Juventus and Sevilla that took former Barcelona player Martin Caceres to Italy.
