Pep wanted rid of Cesc, agent claims

Agent Francois Gallardo has sensationally claimed that Pep Guardiola's exit from Barcelona was 'not for sporting reasons.'

Guardiola, the most successful Coach in Barca's history, is currently enjoying a sabbatical in New York after leaving Camp Nou at the end of last season.

“Guardiola put to [Sandro] Rosell four conditions to renew,” Gallardo is quoted as saying by AS.

“Among them was the sale of four players – Dani Alves, Gerard Pique, Cesc Fabregas and Gerard Pique. Pep saw the first three were not committed, and wanted Villa to leave for sporting reasons.

“Guardiola was especially disappointed with Cesc as a person, since he had asked for the move then failed him. Rosell knew these players were untouchable and fans would not accept their sale.”

It is not the first outlandish claim Gallardo has made this week, as he yesterday stated that he was in advanced negotiations to bring Chelsea captain John Terry to Valencia.
