Rayo Vallecano boss Paco Jemez claims he would be embarrassed to play like Celtic did against Barcelona.
The Scots adopted a defensive approach after taking an early lead at Camp Nou in the Champions League on Tuesday, but eventually succumbed to a 2-1 defeat.
Jemez, whose side are known for their cavalier style of play, insists Rayo's approach when they host Barca at the Campo de Vallecas tomorrow will be very different.
“I could play like Celtic did, but I would drop my head in shame when I looked in the eyes of fans,” the former Spanish international declared to the assembled press.
“It would be contrary to the views of our fans.”
Curiously though Jemez went on to say that Rayo would 'stay focused in defence' and try to exploit Barca's weakness at set pieces, just as Celtic did.
“Barca have few weaknesses, perhaps one of them is set pieces. They are a team that knows very well how to conceal their faults with the quality of their players and possession.
“Our main goal should be to take the ball to them. We have to be convinced, because we know how difficult it will be. All teams in the world lose games, why can't Barca on Saturday? We recognise the difficulty, but its not impossible.”
