Pulido might leave Atleti

Jorge Pulido has confirmed that he will assess his options in January, having so far struggled for game-time with Atletico Madrid.

The defender has faced competition from Joao Miranda, Diego Godin and Cata Diaz in the centre of defence in the capital and has only been selected for two squads so far this term.

Both of those were Europa League matches, with the 21-year-old playing the latter one against Viktoria Plzen, which for the youngster, is not enough to stop him considering his options in the next transfer window.

“For now it is enough to get through to the winter transfer market. We must continue working and that will be when it is time to look at what is best for me and for the club,” the Spain Under-20 international told reporters today.

“As a player you always just want to play minutes. [Diego Simeone] spoke with me early season. He said he wanted me here. There was an offer from Valladolid for me and in the end that option did not happen and right now I have to keep working and try to take advantage of opportunities like the other week [against Viktoria Plzen].”
