Llorente sets sights on Premier League

Athletic Bilbao striker Fernando Llorente has decided his future lies in the Premier League, according to AS.

Although his brother and representative Chus has sought out the best offer from a number of European clubs, the player himself has virtually made up his mind that he wants a move to England.

The Spanish international has been unsure of his future with Los Leones all summer, after refusing to sign a contract extension, and knows he has three main options open to him in the Premier League: Manchester City, Arsenal and Tottenham.

Reports in Spain have previously suggested his brother has already met representatives from the Manchester club, with the presence of Spain teammate and friend David Silva at the Etihad Stadium understood to be a plus point in City’s favour.

Boss Roberto Mancini believes Llorente would form a prolific front partnership with Sergio Aguero but he will also face competition from the two London clubs.

Spurs are known to be particularly keen on the 27-year-old and Arsenal could step up their interest. Gunners’ boss Arsene Wenger has failed to be impressed with new signing Olivier Giroud and may well have money to spend come January.
