Celta preparing Herrera extension

Celta Vigo are reportedly firm in their intention to extend Coach Paco Herrera’s contract by a further two seasons.

Herrera has been in charge of the Galicians since the start of the 2010-11 campaign and engineered their return to La Liga last term after a five-year absence.

Currently sitting in mid-table, the club are reported once more as keen to renew their tactician’s current deal, which otherwise expires next summer.

Herrera himself is understood to be happy to commit, but has previously expressed that he would only put pen to paper once he has ‘succeeded’ with Celta.

Celta President Carlos Mourino has previously worked through eight Coaches in his seven seasons as the club’s majority shareholder, but is reportedly happy to progress long term with Herrera.
