Espanyol have had their bid to keep on-loan striker Samuele Longo for another year turned down by Inter.
Reports in the Spanish Press have indicated that the Periquitos' asked if they could keep the 20-year-old past the agreed June 2013 deadline, but the Serie A side have declined that offer.
The Italy Under-21 international moved to the Estadi Cornella-El Prat in August, and has already impressed, scoring two goals in as many League games.
