Germany Coach Joachim Low has played down fears that Real Madrid midfielder Sami Khedira could be out for some time with a muscle strain.

The 25-year-old was brought off at half-time in Die Mannschaft's 6-1 win over Republic of Ireland on Friday night, but the former Stuttgart boss has quashed rumours the injury could leave Los Blancos' man out for a number of weeks.

“We took him off at half-time before it got worse,” he told a Press conference after the game. “Khedira still has a problem, but nothing is broken.

“We will have to wait two or three days before we know more.”
