‘Levante must learn from mistakes’

Pedro Rios has reflected on Levante’s collapse away at Osasuna this weekend and insists that the team will not repeat their mistakes again.

Los Granotes fell 4-0 to Los Rojillos on Sunday, handing Jose Luis Mendilibar’s men a first win of the season and Juan Ignacio Martinez with little to say afterwards.

“Obviously the Coach is angry, and we all agreed with him,” Rios told reporters at today’s conference.

“Here we are all together, we are saying that it is behind us and we must ensure that it cannot happen again.

“We have to learn from these mistakes. We played a bad game and we know it. If we are to blame then we have to assume responsibility.

“It was a hard blow for us, but from the outside the score can be a little misleading. They were in a tight situation and we knew that we had to handle it better than we eventually did. We deserved nothing out there but the result was still too great.

“We rely on intensity and concentration. We were punished when we lowered our intensity, normally we go for the 90 minutes.”

However, the winger is insistent that the club are not dwelling on the defeat, with Europa League action coming up soon.

“We are already thinking towards Hannover, to take something positive over there would be good. We are willing to make up for the Osasuna pain over there.”
