Michel: Sevilla can beat Barca

Sevilla Coach Michel believes his side have what it takes to defeat Barcelona when the two meet in La Liga on Saturday.

The 49-year-old tactician has already masterminded a victory over Real Madrid at Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan this season, and considers his unbeaten side capable of ending the League-leading Blaugrana's 100 per cent record.

“Madrid and Barcelona are the two best teams in the world,” the former Getafe chief told Mundo Deportivo. “To win against them, you have to be even better. Because we are performing so well at the moment, that has warned our opponents.

“We have to play very well to win against Barcelona. We just want to go straight to the game.”

Michel then gave his thoughts on the current Barca team, saying that Sevilla cannot afford to focus purely on Lionel Messi.

“Messi is not the only player that has contributed to this team. If you stop him, you find yourself up against Xavi, Pedro or another player.

“We have to play as a team to stop them, as we did against Real Madrid.”

The game kicks off at 9pm local time tomorrow, and Sevilla could go second with a win.
