Getafe offer Guiza to Betis

Getafe have offered Real Betis the chance to take Dani Guiza to the Benito Villamarin in the January transfer market, reports AS.

The Andalusians were in contact with the Madrid club during the summer when they were searching for a replacement for striker Roque Santa Cruz, who eventually joined Malaga, but were casting their eyes elsewhere in Luis Garcia’s squad.

At the time it was understood Betis boss Pepe Mel was keen to sign Venezuelan international Miku, now with Glasgow Celtic, or Adrian Colunga.

In the event, neither deal materialised but the lines of communication between the clubs have been kept open and Jerez-born Guiza, who has represented Spain 21 times, is understood to have been given the green light to depart the Coliseum Alfonso Perez.

Garcia has made it clear that Paco Alcacer, on loan from Valencia, and new signing from Espanyol Alvaro Vazquez are his two first-choice strikers, leaving the way clear for the experienced Guiza, 32, to sign for Los Beticos.
