Dani Alves admits PSG contact

Barcelona full-back Dani Alves admits he had contact with Paris Saint-Germain over a proposed move during the summer.

Cash-rich PSG are backed by owner’s Qatar Investment Authority and were rumoured to be interested in the Brazilian international before the start of this season, something he has now confirmed.

“It’s true that PSG have brought in many people and built a beautiful project,” said Alves in declarations to RMC. “This summer they were very close to my representatives and asked if a transfer was possible.

“However, the chances were very low because the price was too high and then they decided to look for other players.”

Nonetheless, the former Sevilla player revealed he would not close any doors in the future and admitted that PSG’s interest had made him think of his situation.

“With respect to whether or not I would ever play in Paris you never know what the future may hold. I’m not closing any doors. If Barcelona did not want me one day…”
