Alexis Sanchez speaks!

Barcelona's Alexis Sanchez is his own harshest critic, awarding himself just five out of 10 for his performances this season.

The Chilean attacker has given a very rare press conference, his first since being unveiled as a Blaugrana player just over a year ago.

“Today I had to speak at a press conference,” he laughed.

“I would give myself a five. I can do more. I accept the criticism, it makes me stronger. This year I want to score goals and continue to help the team.

“People haven't yet seen the best Alexis,” said Sanchez, who has made five starts and one sub appearance in all competitions this season.

“I wished to continue with Pep Guardiola, his departure was a shame, but Tito Vilanova is very similar.”

The former Udinese winger also tipped teammate Lionel Messi to win a fourth consecutive Ballon d'Or, and gave his thoughts on Santos striker and reputed Barca target Neymar.

“I think Leo deserves the Golden Ball, as always. He is ever present, participating in all our matches and always scoring goals.

“Neymar is doing very well, he is a great player who can play for any team in the world. He would fit in well at this club.”

Meanwhile there's more bad news for Barca on the injury front, with Sergio Busquets sitting out training today with back pain. Adriano and Carlos Puyol trained on their own as they strive to recover from injuries.
