Chelsea will approach Atletico Madrid with an enormous €56.5m bid for Radamel Falcao in January, according to the British Press.
The Sun claim that although Blues owner Roman Abramovich is happy with the form of Spanish international striker Fernando Torres – who has 4 goals in nine games for the London club this season – the Russian oligarch feels more strength in depth is needed up front, especially after the loss of Didier Drogba.
And having watched Falcao score a hat trick past his team in Atleti's recent 4-1 European Super Cup destruction of Chelsea, the Colombian is now said to be his number one target.
