Simeone: Falcao fine to face Betis

Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone says that striker Radamel Falcao should be fit to feature against Real Betis tomorrow.

The Rojiblancos travel to take on the Verdiblancos in a fixture which was originally postponed because of the former's participation in the European Super Cup.

On fire frontman Falcao was thought to be doubtful having been substituted at half-time of the 2-1 win over Real Valladolid, but Simeone is confident he will be able to call upon the Colombian.

“In principle, everything would be fine to play Falcao,” said the tactician in his official press conference.

The former Argentine international insists Atleti are working hard as ever despite their excellent start, and discussed the number of goal his midfielders are chipping in with.

“I have no fear that the team will suffer vertigo. We do not look beyond the next game. It's logical that you are interested in the euphoria and stuff, but we have not changed anything.

“Over the matches we are improving in every facet. It's important to have goal scoring midfielders. The arrival of Raul Garcia and Cristian Rodriguez has helped us grow in that direction.”

Simeone respects the threat posed by Betis, and by midfielder Benat in particular.

“The game before us is the most demanding. We will face a very fast and very dangerous team. Anyone who plays must be awake and attentive.

“Benat is remarkable and is in a very good period of form.”
