Deportivo de La Coruna have confirmed that striker Riki was forced off against Granada today with a heavily bruised nose.
The veteran had to be substituted before half-time after taking a blow from Granada defender Diego Mainz in the 33rd minute of play.
The player received treatment at the time and initially returned to the playing field, but was forced to retire four minutes later with it suspected that he had fractured his nose.
The club have now confirmed that the player suffered only a bruised nasal septum instead. He will undergo additional medical tests tomorrow to understand the full extent of it and a possible course of recovery.
His replacement Nelson Oliveira came on and immediately scored Depor’s only goal of the game.
