Pablo Piatti has admitted that fracturing his elbow during the international break is a heavy blow for the season ahead.
The Argentine sustained the injury whilst apparently attempting an overhead kick in training at the end of last week and immediately required surgery to correct the fractured joint.
“The injury is a big blow. I felt something break. Fortunately the operation went well,” the player told reporters on his discharge from hospital.
“In principle my recovery is two months, but we still don’t know. I have to tread carefully, cautiously and with great care. Hopefully in two or three weeks I can start running again with a protective cast.”
