Del Nido: Champions for Africa a party

Jose Maria del Nido says the forthcoming Champions for Africa game will be a party for the city of Sevilla.

The match, to be held on September 25 at the Sanchez Pizjuan, will also act as a testimonial for former Sevilla striker Freddie Kanoute, who now plays for Chinese outfit Beijing Guoan.

As a result, Del Nido has urged fans to turn out for a good cause whilst also praising Betis President Miguel Guillen, who says he will definitely be in attendance.

“With the presence of the Betis President it has been shown that this match will be a party for the city of Sevilla.

“We will also get to honour the best player in Sevilla’s modern history and moreover one who brought us trophies.

“Who would have thought he would be with us for more than six years, would play 210 games and become the foreign player to have won most titles with Sevilla?

“That is why I encourage all football fans to get their tickets,” declared Del Nido.

Stars who have promised to turn out for the game include former Sevilla players Dani Alves, David Capel, Adriano, Enzo Maresca, Julien Escude and Javier Saviola, while the club still awaits confirmation that Christian Poulsen, Renato and Luis Fabiano will take part.
