The rearranged Week 3 fixture between Real Betis and Atletico Madrid has now had a kick-off time confirmed.

The game, originally scheduled to kick off on Monday evening as the final fixture of Week 3, was moved to Wednesday September 26 on the request of Atletico.

The Madrid side successfully argued that their involvement in the preceding Friday’s UEFA Super Cup and that losing players for the fixture due to international call-ups would have severely hampered their competitiveness.

It was to the annoyance of Real Betis, who accused the Spanish Football League of poor planning and today complained that an official time for the game had still not been set.

That has been countered, with the LFP later issuing a brief statement, confirming that the game will now kick off on the Wednesday at 9pm local time.

Betis, meanwhile, have arranged two behind-closed-doors friendlies, in reaction to the gap of 23 days that the players would otherwise have faced between their Week 2 and Week 4 fixtures.
