Coentrao & Vilanova receive bans

Real Madrid left back Fabio Coentrao and Barcelona Coach Tito Vilanova have been handed four and two game suspensions respectively.

Coentrao will therefore be unable to participate in tonight's Super Cup second leg, but Vilanova will be allowed on the touchline at the Bernabeu. The Barca boss's ban only applies to La Liga games, as his offence was not classified as 'serious.'

Coentrao's suspension is punishment for being sent off during his team's 2-1 defeat to Getafe on Sunday. The Portuguese player was handed a more severe punishment than is customary for a straight red card because he insulted match referee Miguel Angel Perez Lasa at the end of the game.

Vilanova was sent to the stand's during his team's 2-1 win over Osasuna, after complaining to the fourth official that Sergio Busquets had been fouled in the second half of the match.
