Maresca undecided on Samp bid

Malaga midfielder Enzo Maresca has remained coy over his future at the club and reveals that Sampdoria have made an offer for his services.

The 32-year-old Italian, who joined Los Boquerones in 2011, has disclosed that the Serie A club have tabled a two-year contract, but has insisted his present commitments are with Malaga.

“The club know my personal situation very well,” he told AS. “I have a year left on my contract, with an offer from Sampdoria of a two-year contract.

“My priority remains Malaga, but we'll see. For me, it is not about money, it is simply the duration of my contract.

“At 32, it is very different having a one-year contract to a two-year one.

“There are economic difficulties [at Malaga], but I will wait and see what happens in the next few days.”

Elsewhere at La Rosaleda, reclusive owner Abdullah Al-Thani has congratulated the team on their impressive 2-0 win over Panathinaikos in the Champions League play-off on Wednesday night.

The Qatari businessman, who pulled his fortune out of the club earlier this summer, took to Facebook to say 'congratulations' to Manuel Pellegrini and his team.
