Barcelona striker David Villa has thanked the club’s supporters following his comeback in the 5-1 win over Real Sociedad.
Villa played the last 15 minutes on his return from long-term injury, enough time for him to notch his side’s fifth goal of the night, and showed his gratitude to the Blaugrana fans via social network Twitter on Monday.
“Yesterday was a special day for me. Everybody made me feel as though all the months of effort have been worth it,”
“Thanks to everyone who has been at my side during this time. It would have been impossible without your love and support,” he posted.
El Guaje ended his message with a special mention for the Barca faithful who gave him an ovation and chanted his name when he entered the pitch.
“Many thanks to the Barcelona supporters for the great ovation they received me with last night in the Camp Nou. I will never forget it.”
The 30-year-old celebrated his goal by revealing a t-shirt with a picture of his family on it and the message ‘impossible without you’ emblazoned on the front.
