Thiago Alcantara’s father Mazinho says he hopes his son stays with Barcelona for many years.
Mazinho was replying to a question about whether Real Madrid President Florentino Perez had ever been in contact with him about signing his eldest son.
“These things belong to the past and they are not important. Thiago is staying with Barcelona,” he told COM radio.
Whilst not denying the rumour, the former World Cup winner with Brazil also said there had been no offer for Thiago from Milan, and that both his boys – his other son Rafinha plays for Barca – are happy with La Blaugrana.
“Milan did not make any proposal for Thiago, so what I have are two boys who are from Barcelona and are very, very happy there.
Thiago is under contract with the club until 2015 and hopefully he will be there many years and finish his career with Barca, because they treat him very well.”
On the other hand, he wished ´Thiago and Mazinho would be able to enjoy the wonderful football Barcelona play if they got more opportunities together next season`.
