Aymeric Laporte wants to focus on playing Champions League football for Athletic Bilbao, not rumours of a move to Barcelona.
The central defender has been an integral part of the Leones’ starting XI this term, helping the team achieve their goal of a top four finish.
And after the San Mames side beat Rayo Vallecano to confirm their Champions League status, the teenager insisted that rumours of a switch to Barca weren’t his concern.
“We played really well as we have been doing all year,” he told a Press conference.
“This is a great day for the club, and we’re delighted to be in the Champions League next season.
“[Coach Ernesto] Valverde has helped a lot. He’s given me a lot of confidence and has helped me grow a lot quicker than I would have otherwise.
“I want to focus on playing in the Champions League with Athletic. I won’t talk about anything else.
“I’m not focused on rumours.”
