Alberto Moreno is still exuberant at his call-up to the Spanish national team and has reflected on the confidence being shown by Spain in their youngsters.
The Sevilla full-back has been handed a first senior call-up for this month’s World Cup qualifiers in Jordi Alba’s absence through injury.
“This is the greatest thing that can happen to a player, to be called up to the senior squad,” Moreno has enthused to reporters today.
“I hoped as a child that someday this day would come. My chance has arrived and I hope that I can take it.
“It is not every day that you join up with your national team. I am proud and happy.
“The trust shown by Spain in the younger players? I am encouraged by this and it gives me confidence to continue.
“Vicente del Bosque is showing his faith and we are going to respond.”
